It was also in that she was cast as Lauren Reed in the television series Alias, which she played until Inshe had her first starring role as Kathy Lutz in The Amityville Horror, the remake of the film of the same name. She then left Sydney for Los Angeles.

Later inshe co-starred with Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston in the thriller movie Derailed, which garnered negative reviews and was a moderate box office success.
